Homestead’s Gina Zirille had the top all-around finish at the Concordia Sectional Gymnastics meet. She won on the vault, bars, beam, and floor. This is the third year in a row she has won all four events at Sectionals.
Fellow Spartan Jillian Wohlwend also finished in the top-five in the overall standings. Specifically, she finished third in that category. Wohlwend also took second on the beam.
The Spartans went on to win first place in the team standings as well, scoring 110.625 overall. They advance to the Huntington North Regional next Saturday.
Bishop Dwenger and Carroll also advanced to regionals. The Saints took second place with a 105.9 score. Ava Reed was their top finisher at fourth all-around. The Chargers took third with a 105.375 score. Their top finisher was Bella Hoogland at second all-around.
While Northrop did not advance as a team, senior Asharia Winston finished fifth all-around and fourth on the beam and the vault. She will represent the Bruins at Regionals.
