The Huntington North Invitational took place this morning at Huntington University’s cross country course. In the girls’ varsity race Columbia City’s Kenya Leitch came back after trailing Huntington North’s Alice Friesen early on. Leitch won the race with a time of 18:21.1.
The Eagles finished second in the team standings. It was Concordia who took first place. The Cadets’ three top-10 finishers were Daphne Weller in fifth, Lilly Schlicker in seventh, and Hannah Clark in 10th.
In the boys’ varsity race, Columbia City’s Gavin Good started out in the lead. But later on, Concordia’s Will Schlegel and Hunter Panning went ahead. Schlegel won the race with a time of 15:52.78. Panning came in second at 16:03.69.
The Cadets finished third in the team standings. It was Carroll who took first place. The Chargers had two top-10 finishers. Aidan Borbiev took fifth with a time of 16.30.81. And Zaraab Habib finished ninth with a time of 16:49.9.
