Hunter’s Top 10 Volleyball Rankings: Preseason

1. Bellmont The Braves finished state runner-up last year, and again this year they lose their setter but the entire team comes back led by Delaney Lawson and Sami Christen.

2. Angola If Morgan Gaerte didn’t get hurt last year the Hornets were my favorite to win the state title in 3A. Gaerte going to Notre Dame and Mya Ball going to UCF, the Hornets are going to be SWARMING all year long.

3. Homestead The Spartans return ALOT of D1 talent! The Tindall twins along with Taeley Mahler give them legit height in the front row. This may be a hot take putting the Spartans at #3, but until other teams can prove me wrong, this is how we will start!

4. Carroll The Chargers bring back most of the team including maybe the best setter in the area Olivia Geisslin who led the Chargers with 1,052 assists. Brenna Ginder also returns, The Oklahoma University commit led the Chargers in Aces and Digs last season.

5. Blackhawk Christian The Braves won the 1A title last year. Allie Boyer who led the team in Kills returns along with Abbie Cresse who led the team in Blocks just recently committed to Dayton as well.

6. Concordia The Cadets return Jersey Loyer who can do it all. Loyer committed to go to Butler University and led the Cadets in Digs and Kills. They also return Keira Dommer who had a breakout Freshman year leading the team in Assits and Aces.

7. Leo The Lions return a ton, they got better every week as the season went on last year. They return Garton, Kovach, and Sweigart giving them good size up front.  I like the Lions to be my upset special team this year.

8. Busco The Eagles have got the best middle in the area. Ella Boersema is going to IU and she’s a stud, she led the Eagles in every stat category she could.

9. Woodlan The Warriors have the legit size to compete with every team on their schedule, losing Avah Smith could be a stinger, but they could beat anyone if they play well.

10. Bishop Dwenger. The Saints are in what you call a rebuild mode under second-year head coach Olivia Current. The Saints do return Audrey Hudson and Lindsay Snyder who had a breakout freshman year, I want to see the Saints prove me wrong!
