Conyer Wilson and Addison Knoblauch Run Away to Victory at Bruin XC Invitational

On Saturday Northrop High School played host to the Bruin Invitational, and in the boys’ varsity race, it was a Bruin who took first place. Northrop senior Conyer Wilson had the lead as he approached the 1,000-meter mark. He never looked back. Wilson won with a time of 16:48.8 on his home course. His win is two weeks removed from a first-place finish at DeKalb High School’s Baron Invitational.

The Bruins would finish second in the team standings, getting help from Devonti Carter who finished seventh.

The girls’ varsity race was all about the Homestead Spartans. Sparty senior Addison Knoblauch took a big lead heading towards the 1000-meter mark. Like Wilson, she would never look back. Knoblauch won for the second week in a row, this time beating the second-place runner by almost two minutes. Homestead also took first in the team standings with a score of 17, 47 points ahead of second-place Carroll. Seven Spartans appeared in the top 10.
