Week 9 SAC Game Predictions

North Side (4-4) at Concordia (3-5)

Prediction: North Side wins 30-23

The most competitive game this week will be a very intriguing matchup between the Legends and the Cadets. After a somewhat shocking win for North Side last week when they beat Northrop, the Legends have won 4 of their last 5 games and are slowly making their way back up in the standings. Junior QB Duce Taylor has been a steady presence at when he has been able to start, throwing for 306 yds and 2 TD in three games this year. Alex Holliday-Robinson’s (772 yds, 5.7 yds/car, 8 TD) explosiveness out of the backfield has aided Taylor very well and kept the offense balanced. Concordia has struggled and QB Brandon Davis has now throw 7 INT’s over his last three games. RB Amir Drew (766 yds 5.7 yds/car, 8 TD) might have to shoulder most of the load in this game to help out his quarterback. North Side should be able to stay in their groove and ride their stars to another victory.

Bishop Dwenger (7-1) at Northrop (4-4)

Prediction: Bishop Dwenger wins 35-3

Northrop has started to fade down the stretch. QB Dylan Hoot has thrown 9 INT’s this year and hasn’t made up for them with only 4 TD. RB’s Jeremiah Green and Damarius Cowen have surprisingly been slowed down, both being held to under 50 yds over their last two games. The Bruins are meeting Dwenger at the worst time. Dwenger has outscored opponents 94 to 21 in their last three games against Concordia, Luers, and Snider. Over that stretch, QB Brenden Lytle has been fantastic with 574 yds and 4 TD, with one of those games being in the blowing rain on Friday. The Saints should be able to take control of this game rather quickly.

South Side (1-7) at Homestead (8-0)

Prediction: Homestead wins 34-0

The Spartans will likely take their starters out early, to avoid injury, regardless of the score. Still, the defense should do enough to where South Side won’t be able to score, making this a blowout. We will probably see a run-heavy Homestead which will give RB Ryan Burton (102 yds, 6.8 yds/car, 3 TD) more opportunities to carry the football in preparation for their first sectional matchup with Noblesville.

Snider (6-2) at Bishop Luers (2-6)

Prediction: 31-0

Snider is going to come out angry after their loss to Dwenger. The defense will suffocate Luers and the offense will show the same fight. The Panthers haven’t had a dominant win in a while and this game comes at the perfect time, as the Panthers try to regain confidence before their sectional matchup with Carroll. For Luers, RB Cecil Hale (413 yds, 5.0 yds/car, 3 TD) will need to carry the load early to take the pressure off his team in this game.

Wayne (0-8) at Carroll (5-3)

Prediction: Carroll wins 27-3

The Chargers have been consistent on defense and have only allowed over 20 points twice this year. We’ll have to see if QB Jeff Becker will sit this game out again or not. Becker has had a tendency to take a lot of big hits this year because of his rushing ability and they’ll need him at 100% for when they play Snider. However, it shouldn’t matter much anyway against a winless Wayne squad that, unlike Carroll, has yet to hold a team to under 20 points all year.
