Week 5 SAC Game Predictions

Published on

Snider (4-0) at Homestead (4-0)

Prediction: Snider wins 17-13

You might as well just flip a coin on this one. The Panthers and Spartans are evenly matched heading into this game. The winner will be the last remaining unbeaten in the SAC for the time being. The impact players in this one will be some familiar names. For Homestead, QB Luke Goode and RB Braeden Hardwick are guys we’ve talked about a lot, but don’t overlook WR Griffin Little, who’s been among the highest producing receivers this year with 179 yds, 13 rec, and 3 TDs. Snider will have QB John Barnes Jr., who has thrown for 586 yds, 7 TDs, and 0 int, and RB Lenny Bennett with 434 yds, 6 TDs, and 0 fumbles. We’ll take Snider in a close one.

Carroll (3-1) at Bishop Dwenger (3-1)

Prediction: Dwenger wins 31-28

The Saints are normally able to beat Carroll on the line of scrimmage and wear them down. But this is a different Carroll team that might give a great Dwenger team some trouble. Dwenger has lost a bit of its luster since last week’s loss, but they could get things going in the right direction again with a win. For Carroll, this a chance to prove they belong by picking up a signature win. The Dwenger run game must be better than they were last week, only rushing for 98 total yards. The Tippmanns in the backfield should be able to do something about that, this time and give the Saints the win.

Concordia (2-2) at Northrop (2-2)

Prediction: Concordia wins 35-24

The winner of this game will have a winning record and will actually be tied with either Carroll or Dwenger in the standings after Friday. The Bruins, who are coming off a blowout loss to Carroll, will have to play better defense to hold off a team very capable of scoring 40+ points. There should be a lot of offense in this game with Northrop RB Jeremiah Green (261 yds, 65.3 yd/game, 3 TD) and Concordia RB Amir Drew (344 yds, 86.0 yd/game, 5 TD) going head to head.

Bishop Luers (1-3) at North Side (1-3)

Prediction: North Side wins 42-14

The Legends should feel more confident about their team with Duce Taylor at QB, after he threw for 228 yds and had 5 total TDs last week. RB Alex Holliday-Robinson has had a difficult start to his year with 239 yds, 1 TDs, and 59.8 yds per game, but he should heat up at some point. He could be a game changer in this game against a struggling Luers defense, just like he was last year.

South Side (0-4) at Wayne (0-4)

Prediction: Wayne wins 27-7

Both teams have had well-documented struggles to start their year. This could be each teams’ last chance to grab a win and it is hard to see Wayne not getting at least 1 with Keshaun Fields at RB. Fields has 395 yds, 98.8 yd/game, and 4 TD and could give Wayne a boost to beat the Archers.
