The Sideline Swami’s Week 11 Sectional Picks

The Sideline Swami’s Week 11 Sectional Picks

Of the 22 games on last week’s local docket, I correctly picked winners in 20 of them and had 11 games within one score. Additionally, there were five games accurately detailed within a single point (including two contests – Tippy Valley by 14 over Garrett; Northfield by 21 over Fremont) by the exact margin of victory. Disgusting! There’s no way my crystal balls will be equally magical this week, especially with Mother Nature meddling in my musings. Recapping last week, I’ve gotta give major props to the players, coaches and fans from Leo and East Noble. Last week’s Instant Classic in Kendallville was the blueprint of how a high school football game should be played. Unsung heroes Jackson Barbour and Kaeden Miller went all Steve Young and Jerry Rice on Leo’s game-winning drive. Who said the Lions couldn’t pass if the game was on the line?

  1. CARROLL (8-1): These Chargers are playing at a high level, though nemesis Sparty comes calling.
  2. SNIDER (7-1): With a talented O-line, sturdy ground game and tough “D,” RNS has the ingredients.
  3. LEO (10-0): The Lions likely are without Carson Hoeppner, who was one tough hombre last week.
  4. BISHOP LUERS (9-1): Next week’s sectional-title tilt vs. unbeaten Eastside looms for Luers.
  5. HOMESTEAD (6-3): The Spartans are quietly lurking; have their rematch vs. the Chargers tonight.
  6. BISHOP DWENGER (5-4): BD coach Garrett has three keys: fundamentals, fundamentals, fund …
  7. NORWELL (9-1): Norwell is almost 100% healthy and clicking on all cylinders, I dare say.
  8. EASTSIDE (10-0): Rumor has it the town of Butler will be renamed Beastside-Butlerville in 2022.
  9. ADAMS CENTRAL (9-1): Coach Mosser said AC may move this week’s game to Bluffton. Hmmm.
  10. EAST NOBLE (6-3): I’m keeping the Knights in my Top 10 after last week’s yeoman’s effort vs. Leo.

HOMESTEAD (6-3) at CARROLL (8-1): The Chargers have Jeff Becker, which is good enough for me. Chargy wins. SWAMI SAYS: Carroll by 10

NORTHROP (3-6) at SNIDER (7-1): I’m envisioning another big night from Tyrese Brown and a TD on special teams. SWAMI SAYS: Snider by 28
NORTH SIDE (2-6) at BISHOP DWENGER (5-4): Look for the Saints to show a few new wrinkles on both sides. SWAMI SAYS: Dwenger by 23

DEKALB (2-8) at LEO (10-0): The friendly confines of home field and artificial surface – Lions’ ground game roars! SWAMI SAYS: Leo by 45
COLUMBIA CITY (5-5) at NORTHRIDGE (6-4): If the Middleburians run effectively, it will be a long night for CC. SWAMI SAYS: Northridge by 21

WAYNE (3-7) at DELTA (5-5): Originally, I had the Fightin’ Variants by a tuddy-plus. But I flipped. The Upset Special. SWAMI SAYS: Wayne by 1
MISSISSINEWA (7-2) at NEW HAVEN (5-5): Carson Campbell runs wild on NH’s defense. The Upset Special II. SWAMI SAYS: Mississinewa by 1

CONCORDIA (2-7) at NORWELL (9-1) B. Antonio’s ‘za warmed up the Cadets, but tonight’s weather cools ‘em off. SWAMI SAYS: Norwell by 24

EASTSIDE (10-0) at CENTRAL NOBLE (8-2): It’s a look-ahead game for the Beastsiders, but Blazers still bigly. SWAMI SAYS: Eastside by 27
BISHOP LUERS (9-1) at PRAIRIE HEIGHTS (4-6): BL might be missing a handful of starters tonight. No worries. SWAMI SAYS: Luers by 44

MONROE CENTRAL (10-0) at SOUTH ADAMS (8-2): If weather cooperates, SA gets payback. I like MC by a sixer. SWAMI SAYS: Monroe Central by 6

SOUTHWOOD (5-5) at ADAMS CENTRAL (9-1): Nov. 6, 2020: SW 28, AC 14. Can you say revenge? Swami can. SWAMI SAYS: Adams Central by 35
