Spartans Break Out Bats, Sweep Panthers on Senior Day

Homestead was on short rest after beating Northrop on Friday night. They turned right around to host a doubleheader against Snider on Saturday, which was also Senior Day for the Spartans.

In Game 1, Homestead won 12-3. They outhit Snider 11-7. Junior Alex Graber had two RBIs, senior Justin Goskowicz had three, and senior Hunter Waugh hit a grand slam in the sixth to help put the game away.

Homestead won Game 2 12-4. This time they outhit Snider 14-5. A whole host of hitters produced runs; including seniors Logann Tuttle, Bryce Yoder, and Jake Goode. Also sophomore Luke Riha, the Spartans leader in batting average, drove in a run in the sixth, which capped off a three-run inning. Homestead scored in every inning but the fourth.

Homestead’s next game is Tuesday against Carroll. Snider’s next game is Tuesday against South Side.
