Saints Bring Back Great Defense, Running Game, and Receiving Corps in 2021

Bishop Dwenger has five state titles to their credit, and they have won 10 or more games four years in a row. Last year, they made it to regionals but lost to Zionsville.

The Saints return a running game that includes last year’s leading rusher KJ Tippmann as well as Aziz Dixon and Gavin Groves. Dixon and Groves each averaged over four yards per carry a year ago.

Dwenger puts a lot of emphasis on its defense. And they return plenty of experience on that side of the ball as well. Groves was the Saints leading tackler last year. He returns along with Collin Vance and Sam Campbell. Those two combined for five interceptions last year. Joe Eddy provides some senior leadership on the defensive line.

The Saints graduated starting quarterback Brenden Lytle. At this point seniors, Collin Vance and Evan Spring and juniors Bodhe Dickerson and Sam Campbell are competing for the starting job. The receiving corps is experienced with Rocco Ciocca, Henry O’Keefe, Sam Campbell, and Jack Tippmann returning.
