Snider football is known for its success. They’ve won two state championships and 17 SAC titles. Even though last year started with back-to-back losses, the Panthers did bounce back from that to go five and three over the next eight games.
This year’s team returns Luke Haupert at quarterback. He became the starter in week 3 against Concordia and finished the season with 757 passing yards and a 54 % completion percentage. Running backs Tyrese Brown and Langston Leavell also return. Brown rushed for 1,004 yards last year. Leavell played in four games but averaged 63 yards per game and 5.86 yards per carry in that span.
The defense returns quality senior leadership. That includes defensive end Markell Keal, who had four sacks last year, linebacker Domanick Moon the leading tackler, and experienced hybrid player Isaiah Maxwell.
Keal is the team’s most experienced defensive lineman and learned a great deal from former Panther greats such as Gianini Belizaire, Reese Thomas, and Jalen Wiggins.
The Panthers will open the season at North Side on August 20th.
