Cadets Embrace Transition on the Gridiron

Published on

Change is in the air at Concordia. Mike Eshbach takes over as head coach after Tim Mannigel coached the team for eleven seasons. Eshbach is an experienced head coach. He has coached at Paoli, Eastside, and Wawasee.

With Amir Drew having graduated, Dontrell Johnson takes over as the primary running back. Drew accomplished three straight 1,000+ yard rushing seasons.

Two-year starting quarterback Brandon Davis has also graduated. Eli Mattox takes over for Davis after starting two games last year in Davis’ absence.

While the defense graduates key position players, they do return James Rusher, who had 7.5 tackles for loss last year. Johnson and Grant Hayworth also add some experience to the defense.
