Best Performances: Week 12

Four teams from the 260 have sectional titles to claim. Leo, Snider, Bishop Luers, and Adams Central have moved on to play in regionals, and we saw some great performances across sectional championship play that muscled these squads into the next round.

Kaden Hurst – WR/CB, Leo

Once again, Mr. Everything shined. An interception and five tackles on defense joined alongside 175 receiving yards and a touchdown on offense. Seriously, what can’t he do?

Brandon Logan – S, Snider

Not only is Logan an absolute stud on the baseball diamond and committed to Vanderbilt, he’s also shown out on the football field. In Snider’s 49-14 win over rival North Side, Logan forced two interceptions, including one to the house for a 44-yard pick-six. Great stuff from a junior with plenty of time left in his high school career to make an impact for the Panthers.

Giovanny Jimenez – RB, Bishop Luers

In Bishop Luers’ shutout 42-0 win over Manchester, the senior went off on the ground with 103 yards and three touchdowns from just eleven carries. Talk about production, and talk about sheer dominance from the entire Bishop Luers squad.

Jack Hamilton – QB, Adams Central

Hamilton’s electrifying performance in the Flying Jets’ 56-14 win over Madison-Grant can’t be understated. On the ground, Hamilton ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns, with two rushes for over 30 yards. Then there’s his passing–four attempts, three completions, 115 yards, three touchdowns. No, I’m not joking with those stats.

Kylar Decker – QB, Leo

How about another QB to round out our top performers? With just 18 slings of the football, Decker threw for 234 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in Leo’s dominant 31-13 victory over Bishop Dwenger. The Decker-Hurst connection lives on to Regionals, and the entire city can’t wait to see how far the tandem can go.
