Week 13: Northeast Indiana GameNight | Game Picks

Your favorite soothsayer was especially prescient once again last week, nailing several sectional finals within a single score (including a trio of final margins within a FG: Carroll by 17, Angola by 4 and Adams Central by 18). When the crystal balls are firing on all cylinders, it’s a thing of beauty.

CLASS 6A

CARROLL (8-3) at PENN (11-0): The Kingsmen should be favored here at home, especially if they get a little help from their striped friends. In the end, though, I’m going with the red-hot Chargers to escape Mishawaka by a touchdown. A healthy JVP, I believe, is the difference for Carroll.

SWAMI SAYS: Carroll by 7

CLASS 4A

BISHOP DWENGER (10-2) at LEBANON (10-2): If the Saints could skunk the defending 4A semistate-champion Knights of East Noble, 32-zip, you’ve got to figure they’ll put the wood to the host Tigers. Lebanon hasn’t thrown an INT yet this season. That streak ends vs. BD’s “D.”

SWAMI SAYS: Dwenger by 35

CLASS 3A

ANGOLA (7-5) at KNOX (12-0): The Myles Mclaughlin watch is in full swing as the Mr. Football candidate is eyeing gridiron immortality. Can Angola DC Seth Wilcox’s defense slow him down? Will Hawk Hasselman pull another rabbit out of his hat? I think the Redskins have too much firepower.

SWAMI SAYS: Knox by 19

BISHOP LUERS (7-5) at TWIN LAKES (10-2): Luers got a sectional scare last Friday against Mississinewa, slithering out of Gas City with a 23-10 win. The Knights’ SOS will pay yuge dividends in this contest, as the one-two rushing tandem of Epperson and Gaither racks up some yardage.

SWAMI SAYS: Luers by 21

CLASS 2A

EASTBROOK (12-0) at ADAMS CENTRAL (12-0): The Flying Jets got off to a great start last week in their win over Eastside, but found themselves in a dogfight with the Blazers after the break. The visiting Panthers don’t have quite the same “umph” through the air as ES. Virtually zero “umph.”

SWAMI SAYS: Adams Central by 17

CLASS 1A

SOUTH ADAMS (9-3) at NORTH MIAMI (9-3): If this one was being played on Berne soil (or turf, I suppose), I’d be going with the Starfires by two scores. Instead, South Adams has to travel to North Miami and play on the Warriors’ soggy grass. Will a wet ball hinder the Starfires’ aerial plans?

SWAMI SAYS: South Adams by 5

OnCampus

Wisconsin at Indiana: The Hoosiers pulled a rabbit out of Cig’s arse last week. No need this time.

SWAMI SAYS: Indiana by 30

Notre Dame at Pittsburgh: This feels like a tricky game for the Irish, but I’m still very much Irish.

SWAMI SAYS: Notre Dame by 12

Purdue at Washington: The Boilers hope to play Spoilers, but these Huskies have too much bite.

SWAMI SAYS: Washington by 18

Eastern Michigan at Ball State: I’m pegging the Cardinals by a whisker at home because I’m a homer.

SWAMI SAYS: Ball State by 1

Texas at Georgia: A loss here by the Snake’s Longhorns may bounce them from the CFP.

SWAMI SAYS: Georgia by 7
