Week 12: Game Picks By The Sideline Swami

CLASS 6A

CARROLL (9-1) at HOMESTEAD (4-6): The Chargers seem to be a lock here, though I do expect some fight from Sparty. In the end, Frisinger-to-Scheele is too much.

SWAMI SAYS: Carroll by 24

HAMILTON SE (5-5) at CARMEL (6-4): If the Royals get an early lead, watch out — they just might pull off the upset. But I like the Greyhounds to coast after the break.

SWAMI SAYS: Carmel by 24

CLASS 5A

SNIDER (6-4) at WARSAW (9-1): A rematch from the Week 1 thriller in Warsaw, the Tigers figure to be two-score faves. Snider’s aerial attack is vastly improved, though.

SWAMI SAYS: Warsaw by 11

LAFAYETTE JEFF (8-2) at HUNTINGTON NORTH (6-4): Coach Eshbach has his Vikes believing again, but do they have enough on defense to tame the Bronchos (51.3 ppg)?

SWAMI SAYS: Jeff by 13

CLASS 4A

BISHOP DWENGER (10-1) at EAST NOBLE (11-0): Most experts are taking EN in this one, and why not? The Knights are undefeated and playing at home. But I like BD.

SWAMI SAYS: Dwenger by 10

LOGANSPORT (11-0) at MUNCIE CENTRAL (8-3): The Berries are flat-out better in the trenches and run away with a relatively easy victory after intermission.

SWAMI SAYS: Logansport by 21

CLASS 3A

WEST NOBLE (10-1) at ANGOLA (8-3): These Hornets have recaptured some of their late-season magic from a year ago, but I’m going with WN in a defensive slugfest.

SWAMI SAYS: West Noble by 7

HERITAGE (8-3) at BLUFFTON (11-0): Host Bluffton has been a team on a mission this season, though I like what I’ve seen from the Patriots in recent weeks.

SWAMI SAYS: Bluffton by 23

CLASS 2A

EASTSIDE (10-0) at ROCHESTER (6-5): A census taker from Rochester once tried to test the Blazers. It didn’t end well. Give me Beastside in a bloodbath on the road.

SWAMI SAYS: Eastside by 39

KNOX (5-6) at WHEELER (10-1): If the Redskins (why are they allowed to be Redskins, and not North Side?) win on first down, they could beat the Bearcats.

SWAMI SAYS: Wheeler by 18

CLASS 1A

FREMONT (8-3) at SOUTH ADAMS (9-2): Heavy hearts for our friends down in Berne as the Starfires play for Gabe and his family. Football seems so unimportant right now.

SWAMI SAYS: South Adams by 27

CASTON (9-2) at PIONEER (11-0): The host Panthers crushed the Comets 35-7 on 9/11, but I feel like Caston might be like “Multiple Miggs” in the cell next door.

SWAMI SAYS: Pioneer by 28

OnCAMPUS

NEBRASKA (5-3) at ILLINOIS (5-3): Believe me, you don’t want Bret Bielema inside your head.

SWAMI SAYS: Illinois by 2

BYU (7-1) at UTAH (8-0): The Cougars have an old friend for dinner. The Upset Special.

SWAMI SAYS: BYU by 1

UCLA (8-0) at MINNESOTA (5-3): Have the lambs stopped screaming, Minny-soda fans?

SWAMI SAYS: UCLA by 4

MARYLAND (2-6) at PURDUE (3-5): Boilers should topple the Terps. All good things to those who wait.

SWAMI SAYS: Purdue by 11

ALABAMA (6-2) at LSU (6-2): It rubs the lotion on the Kiffin or else it gets the hose again.

SWAMI SAYS: LSU by 5

GEORGIA (7-1) at OLE MISS (6-2): Bulldogs are more interesting, more engaging. Or so I say.

SWAMI SAYS: Georgia by 6

MIAMI (8-0) at NOTRE DAME (7-1): The Canes covet what they see (on ESPN). Every day.

SWAMI SAYS: Notre Dame by 3

IOWA (6-2) at NORTHWESTERN (6-2): The Cats send the Hawks back to Iowa City. Fly, fly, fly.

SWAMI SAYS: Northwestern by 1
