Heritage put up a massive upset to shake up the ACAC race last Friday, and now it’s between three teams. Undefeated Adams Central leads the pack, with Bluffton and Heritage chasing them for a share of the title. This week’s clash between AC and the Tigers will come to decide it. Cannot wait!
1. Adams Central (7-0, 4-0 ACAC)

Week 8: at 2A #1 Bluffton
Adams Central held the Raiders to just 137 yards in another dominant performance. Southern Wells didn’t attempt more than two pass attempts in this one, as just the presence of the Jets’ defense excites opponents to take it easy.
2. Heritage (6-1, 3-1 ACAC)

Week 8: at 1A Southern Wells
Everyone in the 260 has spent the weekend praising the game Heritage put up against Bluffton, and for good reason. Even though Bluffton had more total plays, more first downs, fewer penalties, and ten more minutes of possession time, Kobe Meyer’s two-touchdown game on the ground pushed Heritage to a gutsy win over 2A’s top team. Unreal performance.
3. Bluffton (6-1, 4-1 ACAC)

Week 8: vs 1A #2 Adams Central
Two costly turnovers aided Heritage’s upset over this Bluffton team, and the Tigers suffered their first loss of the season. However, they are still in the race for at least a share of the ACAC crown if they can upset Adams Central on Friday.
4. South Adams (4-3, 1-3 ACAC)

Week 7: 23-20 W vs 4A Jay County
Week 8: at 3A Woodlan
Wesley Summersett—just a freshman on this South Adams team—had himself a day with 79 yards receiving and 104 all-purpose yards in a tight win for South Adams. Two turnovers forced by Manny Juarez (an interception) and Luke Bauman (a fumble recovery) also aided the Starfires to victory. A well-rounded win for this squad.
5. Jay County (4-3, 2-3 ACAC)

Week 8: at 2A Lapel
AJ Meyers showed out on Friday with a 153-yard performance off 33 carries. However, his performance was overshadowed by South Adams’ Colton Bollenbacher, who himself ran for 142 yards and two scores in a Starfires win. Jay County is on the rise, but this was a win the Patriots wish they could have cashed in on.
6. Woodlan (2-5, 1-3 ACAC)

Week 7: 42-0 at 4A Culver Academy
Week 8: vs 1A South Adams
Woodlan got blown out by Culver as the slides continues for the Warriors. A big game against a tough South Adams team awaits Woodlan, who could desperately use an upset win.
7. Southern Wells (1-6, 0-4 ACAC)

Week 8: vs 3A Heritage
Southern Wells wasn’t given a chance against Adams Central, but they still managed to hold them below 50 points and put up a score themselves with senior Case Boxell’s rushing touchdown. Next up: a hungry Heritage squad who can’t afford another loss in conference play.
