At this point, every week is championship football until the state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium. This may or may not be the last time I post a prediction on high school football in 2022. But as you’ve seen earlier, SuperSam loves some basketball in the Hoosier State. Now, who wins in 2A 35? This is championship football (as Tim Atkinson would always say) on SummitCitySports DOT COMMMMMM!

NECC Game of the Week: Bishop Luers 6-5 @ Eastside 9-2
This is the game of the week in the state of Indiana for Class 2A. Luers and Eastside, for all the marbles. Four straight meetings between these two teams, and it’s a thrilling game every time they play each other.
When looking at the history of NECC football, Bishop Luers usually woodsheds the NECC competition as if he is Thanos from Avengers. But just when you think Luers is the Cheat Code in the 260, there is always that one team that gives them fits. In the 90s, that team was Jimtown. Right now, that team is Eastside.
It’s the talent and explosiveness speed of Luers’ spread offense vs the big, physical, smack mouth football of the Eastside Blazers. This game is always interesting, and they always come down to the final moments. These games make high school football so much better, and I am so excited we get to talk about this game AGAIN!
I can easily see either team win tonight, and my prediction is whoever wins tonight is going to win next week. Sorry, Eastbrook or Bluffton, but you heard it from me first. So, do I take the tradition and power of Bishop Luers football or the Raging Blazers? Luers or DAX? Stanski or Jacobs??
I know this is the SummitCity, and Fort Wayne is so good at developing football talent………Give me a second to process my thoughts. Here is my extended preview of this game on my ANEC Blog
Players to Watch
Bishop Luers: Kolin Jolas Sr. MLB/DE
Eastside: Carsen Jacobs Sr. QB/DB/CB
Final Verdict:
I might as well find my “Party Like it’s 1998” Blazer Softball T-Shirt because I’m ALL IN for a BLAZER WIN in a BARN BURNER!
Eastside by 5
Bonus Picks (Why? It’s championship football):
I’ll make this one quick since I gave a good breakdown on Leo-Columbia City. I love wjat Leo has done this season, and they’re a force to be reckoned with. That being said, I am RUNNING FOR THE WHITLEY BABY!!
North Side @ Snider: The greatest game in the history of Jeff Mahoney Classics. I wish we could get a Best of Three series between these two teams. Time to embrace the Present! I love you, Snider, and I love watching your games over the years. However, I don’t need the spread to pick this game. WE THE NORTH!
