Warriors On the Rise with Returning Running Back, New Quarterback, and Quality Skill Players

Woodlan has been an improving football program in recent years under head coach Mike Smith. In 2020, the Warriors went just 1-9, but they’ve continued to improve their record since then. They finished 4-6 last year. That was Smith’s third year as head coach.

Leading rusher Drew Fleek returns for his junior season. Last year, he racked up over 1,000 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. He even rushed for 150 yards in a sectional playoff game in 2021.

Fellow junior Ty Louden will be the Warriors starting quarterback. He takes over for dual-threat quarterback Jake Snyder. As he prepares to make his first start, Louden has picked up the offense very well.

Braden Smith returns at wide receiver. He caught just four passes last year. But in those catches, he averaged 22 yards per catch.

Smith will also play cornerback. He’ll share the secondary with Carter Fleek, a two-time all-Allen County Conference safety. Woodlan also expects to be very strong on the defensive line. That unit includes Jack Culler, Gavin Vachon, Mason Richardson, and Oliver Adams.
