Here are my regional championship football picks amongst our remaining area football teams.
1A
North Miami (10-2) @ South Adams (7-5)
This is a tossup game, and it’s easy to take the hot South Adams Starfires given their recent amount of momentum. If they can continue their red hot streak of throwing the football, they’ll have a chance to win this game. However, North Miami has a disciplined Warrior Bone Offense for a reason. I think the streak ends tonight.

Eastern (Greentown) (8-4) @ Adams Central (11-1)
Congrats to the Comets on their first ever sectional championship. However, their run ends at the Landing Strip.

Bishop Luers (8-4) @ Maconaqauh (12-0)
While the Braves are unbeaten and have a talented quarterback by the name of Aiden Robinson, I’m not sure this offense has played anyone this season that will come close to Luers’ elite playmakers on defense. ‘We the Luers’ all the way!

Knox (9-3) @ Garrett (12-0)
Knox has a really good running back by the name of Myles McLaughlin, and Coach Radtke’s teams are always prepared for November football. With that in mind, this Garrett team has been one of a kind in 2024. On the anniversary of the 1974 state championship game, it would be fitting that Garrett wins that regional in front of the Railroader faithful.

Huntington North (9-3) @ East Noble (11-1)
If the Vikings are able to move the ball and put some points on the board, the Vikings will be in this game. However, this is an East Noble defense that’s only allowing 2.3 points per game in the playoffs and are holding teams to just 133 combined passing yards in their last 2 games against Leo and Bishop Dwenger.
I think the Knights get the job done in Kendallville led by Dylan Krehl on offense and Pace Agee on defense.

Lafayette Jeff (11-0) @ Warsaw (8-3)
Warsaw has never won a football regional, and following their 31-28 win over Concord, they’ll have a chance of doing just that. Lafayette Jeff hasn’t exactly been tested with a declining NCC competition. I think the Wishbone Warsaw offense finds a way to win their first regional title.

Carroll (9-2) @ Crown Point (11-0)
Carroll certainly has the horses and a talented quarterback (Jimmy Sullivan) to give Crown Point some trouble, at least in the first half. However, this Bulldogs team has an explosive offense that managed its way to the state finals a year ago. I sadly see the Chargers coming up just short to the Bulldogs.
