Senior-led Defense and Young, Talented Offense Look to Lead the State Champion Panthers

Published on

Snider celebrated its third football state title in school history. They knocked off Decatur Central in the championship game.

This year’s team brings back key senior leadership on defense. That includes safety Brandon Logan and cornerback Jamarion Kolagbodi. Those two combined for seven interceptions last year. The Panthers’ third leading tackler Landen Fry also returns for his senior season. They also return defensive lineman Adam Blakey, who has been a frequent flyer in opposing backfields the last few years.

There are a few new faces on offense this year. Aaron Vance is slated as the starting quarterback this year. It’ll be his first season as a full-time starting QB. He seems to be picking up the offense so far. The Panthers also have a host of running backs that they could lean on. That includes juniors Jordan Davis and Michael Pickens, as well as sophomores Omari Buchanan and Zion Rogan.

Snider opens its season against Warren Central. The Panthers beat the Warriors 42-20 in last year’s opener. However, Warren does have nine state titles in its history.

Correction from the video: The game will be at Wayne Stadium this year.
