3. Homestead(6-2)

The Spartans have had some ups and downs to start off the season as they have dropped two games so far this season one coming against the Noblesville Millers a top team and the state and the other coming off of an unbelievable half-court shot in overtime against Huntington North. In their last outing, Sparty got a nice bounce-back victory over a solid Pike squad. The leading force for Homestead in the win was Emma Ruest who scored 20 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. On the season Ruest, Myah Epps, Ali Stephens, and Molly Stock have been crucial for the Spartans as each has averaged at least 8.5 PPG. I have talked about how important the game between Northrop and Carroll is going to be on Wednesday. Well, two days after that one there will be another showdown of top SAC squads as the Spartans face the Chargers.

The Panthers started off the year slow against a very difficult schedule and have since won three straight. The most recent of the Panthers win was the most impressive beating a Fisher’s team that is widely considered to be top 10 in the state 74-63. In the win, it was Johnea Donahue coming up big with 25 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Ciara Sims was also big for the Panthers as she put up 16 points on 7 for 8 shooting. Next Game: @ New Haven(Nov. 29)

The Generals are on a roll as of late winning 4 straight games after starting the season at 0-3. In the win over Fremont Sydney Gorman came up big with 21 points. On the season it has been both Gorman and Emilia Diaz leading the way for the Generals as they are the two double-digit scorers for this squad averaging a combined 22 PPG. The Generals will look to increase their win streak to 5 in a game against the New Haven Bulldogs.

6. Bishop Luers(3-3)

The Cadets suffered a tough loss in their last game against Norwell after they were able to beat the Adams Central Flying Jets 67-45. The Cadets will now try and bounce back from the loss when they play the Leo Lions.

10. North Side(0-7)

Conference Record: 0-1

SAC Rank: 8th

Last Game: 50-48 OT loss against Lakewood Park

Next Game: vs New Haven(Dec. 6)

The Legends came just short of getting their first win of the season against Lakewood Park losing 50-48 in overtime. Kaleah Williams was the leading scorer in that game for the Legends as she put up 18 points. Defensively the team as a whole was impressive getting 21 steals in the game including 6 from Williams. The Legends’ aggressive defense has certainly caused some problems for their opponents forcing lots of turnovers and the Legends will look to once again cause some problems when they face the New Haven Bulldogs.
