Northrop Boys Take First at Bruin Invitational, Maren Wilson Wins the Girls Race

Northrop High School hosted the Bruin Cross Country Invitational Today. And the Bruins had reason to celebrate on the boys’ and girls’ sides.

Northrop took first place in the boys’ team standings. They ended up with top-ten finishers. Chase Wilson took third place with a time of 16:55.5. Jordan Perez-Yenna took fifth with a time of 17:07.4. Biruk Shaw took seventh with a time of 17:34.7. And Lucas Gerber took eighth with a time of 17:41.4.

Eastside’s Andrew Strong won the boys’ race. He finished with a time of 15:50.3, which was 40 seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Jacksan Slater from Snider. Eastside took fifth in the team standings with a 115 score. Snider took second with a score of 44.

Another Bruin took first place in the girls’ race. Maren Wilson won the race with a time of 18:26.5, which was 31 seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Hannah Suvar from Blackhawk Christian.

Wilson and the Bruins finished fifth in the team standings, while Homestead took first place with four top-ten finishers. Avalyn Goldstone finished fifth with a time of 19:32.9. Iris Salisbury took eighth with a time of 19:59.5. Lucy Kramer took ninth with a time of 20.02.5. And Ella Antibus took 10th with a time of 20.05.09.

Two freshmen finished in the top five. Concordia’s Lucy Hogue took third place with a time of 19.13.1. And Snider’s Georgia Leininger took fourth with a time of 19.16.8.
