1. Norwell
Week 3: 27-0 win over Leo
Previous Ranking: #1
Week 4: @ Bellmont
We asked to see Norwell against a formidable opponent. They shut out Leo. That is two shut outs in a row by the defense and one that held Leo to 85 yards of offense. Knights are rolling. The three horsemen are running the ball like a dominant force.
2. New Haven
Week 3: 27-7 win over Dekalb
Previous Ranking: #4
Week 4: vs Leo
The Bulldogs have been licking their chops for a chance to move up the board. And with a top-level effort against the Barons, they jump two spots. If they can beat Leo this week, New Haven will really have a foot hold beside Norwell. Fun team to watch – swag level 1000!
3. East Noble
Week 3: 27-26 win over Huntington North
Previous Ranking: #2
Week 4: vs Dekalb
The Vikings always play East Noble tough. EN survives in a close one, but New Haven makes the jump with a more impressive win this week.
4. Leo
Week 3: 27-0 loss against Norwell
Previous Ranking: #2
Week 4: @ New Haven
Leo has been on the bubble for a couple of weeks. The big loss to the Knights knocks them down a couple pegs. However, a victory against the hot Bulldogs could change things.
5. Columbia City
Week 3: 49-0 win over Bellmont
Previous Ranking: #5
Week 4: vs Huntington North
The Eagles handled business at home as they should against a struggling Bellmont Braves team. This week against the Vikings will be paramount. Also, the tougher portion of CC’s schedule is the backend so that will tell the tale.
6. Huntington North
Week 3: 27-26 loss against East Noble
Previous Ranking: #7
Week 4: @ Columbia City
The Vikings move up the chart this week. A one-point loss to East Noble after the prior week they handled Jay County. This loss is more impressive to us than Dekalb’s loss to New Haven.
7. Dekalb
Week 3: 27-7 loss against New Haven
Previous Ranking: #6
Week 4: @ East Noble
Dekalb was easily handled by New Haven. We love the weapons Dekalb has but against better defenses, the Barons have struggled. They can get some ground back with a successful trip to Kendallville this week.
8. Bellmont
Week 3: 49-0 loss against Columbia City
Previous Ranking: #8
Week 4: vs Norwell
The Braves were beaten down by CC last Friday. It won’t get any easier against the conference leader this week. The Braves are at home, and hopefully they can get some spark.
