After their improbable comeback against Northrop on Friday, Leo had a quick turnaround. They took on Northeast 8 Conference rival Columbia City at 9 am, but they hardly missed a beat in that game.
The Lions knocked off the Eagles 11-1 in five innings. They got run production from players such as Madyn Moore and Anna Woods. Moore drove in a run in the first, and Woods hit a two-run double in the third. Malina Lape also turned a double play in the second by robbing a base hit and then doubling up Bethany Haselby. Haselby provided Columbia City’s only run with a solo home run in the first.
Leo would fall to Munster 6-5 in the afternoon. But the Lions improve their overall record to 4-1. They’ll play their next game on Monday against Lincolnview.
