After winning the Columbia City Sectional and the Plymouth Regional, Homestead faced Concord in the Semi-State playoffs at Loeb Stadium in Lafayette.

Homestead fell behind 3-0 in the third inning. But they got a three-run fourth featuring RBI hits from Luke Neiswonger and Will Karshner. Then, they took the lead in the fourth when Brady Minnick’s opposite-field single drove home Caleb Bradford. Homestead proceeded to add six insurance runs in the seventh.

After surrendering those three runs (only two of them earned) Homestead pitcher Ryne Michaeloff settled down and threw a complete game. He struck out four batters, and only surrendered three walks and three hits.

Unfortunately, Homestead fell to Lake Central in the championship game. Indians’ pitcher Blake Sivak threw a complete game throwing nine strikeouts. LC is off to state next Saturday. As for Homestead, their season ends with a 20-11 overall record.
