Carroll Football Charges On After Bounce-Back 2019

After following up a three-win 2018 with a 7-4 2019. Despite graduating great defensive players such as Ray Vollmer, Lincoln Lantz, Larry Sible, and Matt Ottenweller, this year’s defense returns plenty of upperclassmen-leadership. That includes juniors Cade Dinan and Hunter Mertz, as well as junior defensive back Tucker Steely.

Junior quarterback Jeff Becker returns as the starter this year. He was one of the SAC’s top passers as a sophomore last year, throwing for 2039 yards and 20 touchdowns. He’ll have talented seniors Mason Englert and Boden Hite as part of his receiving corps.

The Chargers will have to replace top running back Evan Harris. Luke Carmody and Aiden Lazoff are expected to carry the load in the ground game.
