Canterbury alum and current Belmont women’s basketball player Darby Maggard is on the verge of a major milestone for Belmont University this week. She needs just 16 points to become the program’s all-time leading scorer in the school’s NCAA era.

Maggard is currently sitting with 1,525 points. The Bruins play on the road tonight at Middle Tennessee and Wednesday at Northern Kentucky. The senior guard is averaging a team-best 31.7 minutes played per game, 18.7 points per game while shooting 52% from beyond the arc on 15-of-29 shooting.
Last season, Maggard became the NCAA Division 1 era leader in career assists (554) and made three-pointers (332). She was also named an Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard Finalist and was MVP of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Maggard has been a First-Team All-OVC selection for three straight years.
