The Spartans had a week off this past week not playing any games as it was the sectional week for girl’s basketball. The Spartans currently made use of their week off though as they have a very important week ahead of them playing each of the teams with only one loss in conference play the Wayne Generals on Tuesday followed by the Concordia Cadets on Friday night.
2. Wayne (13-4)

The Generals also had the past week off with no games. It’s a great time for them to have some extra time for prep as they will face the lone unbeaten Homestead Spartans on Tuesday to try and get on top of the SAC. Then on Friday, the Generals will have another big game at South Side.
3. Concordia (12-4)

Last Game: 86-50 win over Angola
Next Game: vs Northrop(Feb. 7)
The Cadets dominated the one game they played this past week beating Angola by 36 points. Ajani Washington led the way for them in that game with 25 points on an impressive 10/14 shooting from the field. He also got 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Joe Tapp and David Speckhard also reached double digits with a combined 24 points. The Cadets now are set for two tests in the SAC with a game against Northrop Tuesday followed by a big one at Homestead Friday night.
4. Carroll (10-6)
Conference Record: 4-2

Last Game: 54-44 win over Huntington North
Next Game: vs North Side(Feb. 7)
The Chargers got a bounce-back win in their last outing over the Vikings. They will continue to be tested moving forward as they have 6 games left and 5 of those being against teams within the top 100 of Sagarin ratings. Three of those games are also against conference opponents so there are no easy ones moving forward for Carroll.
5. North Side (11-7)
Conference Record: 4-2

Last Game: 83-61 loss against Lawrence North
Next Game: @ Carroll(Feb. 7)
North Side played just one game this past week and it was a difficult challenge against Lawrence North in which they suffered a 22-point loss. With the loss, the Legends have now dropped 3 out of their last 4 games and look to turn that around Tuesday against Carroll. With just 3 games left for the rest of the regular season, each will be an important building block in trying to improve before heading into sectionals.
6. Bishop Luers (5-12)
Conference Record: 2-4
SAC Rank: T-6th
Last Game: 70-44 loss against Wayne
Next Game: vs South Side(Feb. 7)
The Knights did not play this past week and have had some time to regroup as they are currently on a 5-game losing streak. They will look to snap that streak against the Archers on Tuesday.
7. South Side (3-13)
Conference Record: 1-5

Last Game: 61-47 loss against Muncie Central

South Side took a tough loss to Muncie Central this past week as a slow start in the first half buried them against a lead that was too much to come back from. On Tuesday the Archers get a chance to bounce back when they face Bishop Luers.
8. Bishop Dwenger (5-12)

Last Game: 56-45 loss against Lawrence Central
Next Game: vs East Noble(Feb. 8)
The Saints dropped their last game against Lawrence Central in an 11-point loss. Before that, though they did pick up a second conference victory by beating the Snider Panthers. They will look to get back on the right path on Tuesday against a 2-15 East Noble squad.
9. Northrop (4-13)
Conference Record: 2-4
SAC Rank: T-6th
Last Game: 84-65 loss against Marion
Next Game: @ Concordia(Feb. 7)
The Bruins had this past week of getting some extra time for practice as the season ramps up. They will now face Concordia on Tuesday as they look for their third conference win.
10. Snider (2-16)
Conference Record: 0-7
SAC Rank: 10th
Last Game: 93-76 win over East Noble
Next Game: vs Blackhawk(Feb. 7)
The Panthers got a win this past weekend as they dominated the East Noble Knights in a 17-point win. They will now look to carry that momentum forward when they face Blackhawk this Tuesday.
