East Noble’s Rylee Biddle stepped into the starting quarterback role last season after making his mark as a standout defensive back as a sophomore. He quickly proved himself under center, earning Second Team All-Conference honors after passing for 1,784 yards and 23 touchdowns with just 7 interceptions, while also showcasing his mobility with 276 yards on the ground with 8 more scores. Biddle also etched his name into the record books with a Class 4A state title game-record 80-yard touchdown pass to Logan Hatton in the loss against New Palestine in 2024. His impact wasn’t limited to offense — when called on defensively, he added 47 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble from his safety position. On special teams, Biddle had 43 Punts averaging 36 yards per, with 11 pinned inside the 20. His leadership helped guide the Knights to back-to-back Northeast Eight Conference Championships and a state runner-up finish, under first-year head coach Alex Stewart.

Here’s the “5 to Know” from East Noble signal caller Rylee Biddle!

Who or what has had the biggest impact on your athletic journey so far?

I’d say my entire sophomore season. I was battling for the starting QB job all summer, but wasn’t given the job over a senior, so instead of sitting back and letting that define me, I decided to go out and prove I can play safety as well. In my first appearance on defense at the PSM 7on7, I racked up 3 interceptions and multiple pass breakups. That was all she wrote, as I earned the starting safety spot that day and ended up having a great season with 40+ tackles.

What’s your pregame routine or ritual that gets you locked in?

I really don’t like talking on game days until it’s closer to game time. I like being quiet and getting my mind right by listening to calming music and watching whatever film I need to. I also always pray for the protection of myself and others, as well as the ability to be the best I can be that night.

What’s your proudest moment in sports — and why does it stand out?

I would say the post season last year. I had a lot leaning on me and I handled it great. I was told by my coaches that I’m the guy and I’m going to take us to state and that wasn’t pressure to me, that was just motivation. I played phenomenal week after week in the post season and even in the state game loss, I threw 3 touchdowns, one of them breaking a record.

What are your goals — both short-term and long-term — in your sport or beyond?

For this year my goal is definitely to get my completion percentage up as well as become more of a dual threat, show I can run the ball and not just throw it. On the defensive side I just want to fly around all year and make plays that builds momentum for the entire team, I love contact! My long term goal would be going to a college that fits me best both academically and athletically and then help other athletes recover and become better people as my job.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you — on or off the field?

I’m extremely smart. I hold a 3.97 GPA that just dropped from a 4.0 after pre calc this past year. Before my junior year, I never had an A- on a report card in my life.
