5 to Know: Columbia City’s Carson Henry

All photos provided by Carson Henry

This past Friday, Columbia City piled up 354 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in a 42–13 road win at New Haven, once again showcasing senior right guard Carson Henry’s impact up front.

At 5’11”, 220 pounds, Henry was a 1st Team All-NE8 selection a season ago. He’s been a cornerstone for the Eagles’ offensive line under head coach Brett Fox.

That dominance has carried over into 2025, as Columbia City’s offense is averaging a staggering 260.7 rushing yards per game—almost double the national average.

Who or what has had the biggest impact on your athletic journey so far?

My love of the game started very young with parent volunteer coaches pouring into us every weekend. Then in middle school, Coach Josh Garrison taught me the most about being an offensive lineman. But Coach Dustin Schrader has had the most impact, as he has helped me on and off the field. He always brings excitement, encouragement and motivation to be our best on and off the field.

What’s your pregame routine or ritual that gets you locked in?

I sit in front of my locker before and after pre-game warm ups, taking a moment to enjoy silence. I follow that by blaring game time music in my ears to get me locked in.

What’s your proudest moment in sports — and why does it stand out?

Simply playing under Friday night lights, it’s a feeling that is simply unmatched and comes to an end before you know it.

What are your goals — both short-term and long-term — in your sport or beyond?

Short term goal is to play in Lucas Oil Stadium. Long term goal is to return to the field one day as a coach.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you — on or off the field?

I dislike big cities; the small town of Columbia City will always be home.
