5 to Know: Bishop Luers Jarron Taylor

Bishop Luers defensive force Jarron Taylor is picking up right where he left off after earning 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Conference honors for head coach Kyle Lindsay. At 6’2”, 265 lbs, the senior anchors the Knights’ defense with 21 tackles and a sack, helping hold opponents to just 13.5 points per game. Off the field, Taylor excels just as much with a 3.967 GPA and multiple Division I offers, including Army and Air Force. Check out the 5 to Know with Jarron Taylor!

Who or what has had the biggest impact on your athletic journey so far?

God and my family.

What’s your pregame routine or ritual that gets you locked in?

Listening to music on my AirPods.

What’s your proudest moment in sports — and why does it stand out?

Going to state and getting my first offer. Going to state at Lucas Oil Stadium was just electric, especially because the Colts are my favorite team. But the feeling before state was just surreal. After I got my first offer, I remember I was jumping up and down like a little kid, and I am very grateful that I got that offer because recruitment just started booming after that.

What are your goals — both short-term and long-term — in your sport or beyond?

My short-term goal is to win Conference. And my long-term goal is to go back to state and win.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you — on or off the field?

I like binge-watching movies and TV shows.

Up Next: The Knights open conference play this Friday at Bishop Luers Field against the Snider Panthers, both teams seeking their first win, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
