#1: Bishop Dwenger
Week 2: vs North Side
The Saints played a great all-around game on Friday. Brenden Lytle played well, throwing for 221 yds and 2 TDs. The defense only allowed 6 points. Dwenger will be looking forward to playing their first game on-campus ever this week, which will give them a lot of energy.
#2: Snider
Week 2: vs Carroll
Snider absolutely dominated in their first game. There was plenty of positives to take away from it, including lighting up the scoreboard with 51 points and allowing 0 themselves. The next game will be a bit more challenging, but right now Snider could beat anybody.
#3: Homestead
Week 2: vs Concordia
Everything went as planned for Homestead in week 1. They defended well against Northrop’s best playmakers and let their own loose. Braeden Hardwick’s 113 yards and 2 TDs are a sign that this offense will be very balanced between the running game and Luke Goode’s obvious talent at QB. Sparty’s home opener will come this week against the Cadets.
#4: Carroll
Week 2: at Snider
Week 1 should give Carroll a lot of confidence about their ability to win games. They didn’t just narrowly escape with a win. They blew out a good football team in Luers. Next week will be an early test against Snider and will give us a better idea of what to expect from the Chargers this season.
#5: Concordia
Week 2: at Homestead
Concordia’s home crowd was probably holding their breath when the score was 14-14 against South Side. However, the Cadets could exhale when they were able to pull away late, winning 41-14, though they can’t afford to get off to another shaky start this week against Homestead.
#6: North Side
Week 2: at Bishop Dwenger
North Side’s gauntlet began with a blowout loss at home. The wrath of the Panthers was relentless and the Legends just simply couldn’t get anything going. They will get caught in another title wave this week when they play at Dwenger, in what will be a hyped team, excited to play in its first game on their own field.
#7: Wayne
Week 2: at Bishop Luers
Wayne had a tough night in week 1. Their stars didn’t shine brightly as the Saints shut them down. They’ll need playmakers like RB Keshaun Fields to have a better performance and carry them do a victory. Next up for the Generals will be Bishop Luers.
#8: Northrop
Week 2: at South Side
Northrop could have found themselves in a closer game on Friday had they not made some big mistakes early. With that being said, there’s always next week and Northrop will likely focus on their next game, instead of dwelling on last game.
#9: Bishop Luers
Week 2: vs Wayne
Week 1 didn’t pan out well for the Knights. They got exposed and they never built up any momentum against the Chargers. However, this team is still talented enough to bounce back, as they prepare for week 2.
#10: South Side
Week 2: vs Northrop
The Archers were close to coming out with a win in week 1. The scoreboard doesn’t show respect to how much better they played in this game. They did still, ultimately lose the game by a big margin and they still need to improve in many areas. They’ll look to do more than just compete against Northrop in their home-opener on Friday.
