Caleb Furst scored 20 points to lead the Braves.

Wayne 88, Washington 85

Craig Young led Wayne with 23 points, Shaquan Sanders and Dillon Redding each scored 14, Darien Causey scored 13 and Kylon Jarreau and Anthony Phillips each had 11 points.

Warsaw 56, Snider 48

Columbia City 55, Canterbury 54

Noah Drapala scored a game high 17 points to lead the Cavaliers.

Friday, 1/12

Carroll 62, Luers 39

Riley Perlich had a game high 16 points and five rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks, Arius Jones added 13 points to lead Carroll. Mark Strum led the Knights with 13 points and Naylon Thompson added 10.

North 74, Northrop 48

Lucas Kroft scored a game high 27 for the Legends. 

South 75, Concordia 43

J.t. Langston shot 8 of 12 from the field and led the Archers with 17 points and six rebounds, Trejean Didier scored 13, including the 1,000th point of his South Side career, teammate Asher Blum chipped in 10. Jeren Kindig led the Cadets with eight points, Cleevus Craig 7.

Wayne 71, Dwenger 67, 1OT

Craig Young poured in a game high 24 points, Dillon Redding added 17 and Darian Causey had 12. Hayden Smithey scored 23, Matt Kochanski added 15 and Brenden Lytle 12 for Bishop Dwenger.

Homestead 63, Snider 45

Homestead kept pace with the Legends, moving to 4-0 with the Legends at the top of the SAC standings. Grant Raber and Sam Buck led the Spartans with 14 points. Dillon Duff added a game high 15 points for Snider.

1/12 Fill It Up All-Stars: West Noble’s Schermerhorn, Wayne’s Young

Young scored 25 points – including a breakaway dunk just 14 seconds into the first quarter – as the Generals earned an SAC road win over Bishop Dwenger 71-67 in overtime.

Smithey leads the team in scoring at just under 15 points per game as he continues to develop his shot.

Boys Basketball Player of the Week: North Side’s Keion Brooks Jr.

Brooks led the legends to a pair of victories last week, with 21 points against Wayne, and 18 against Culver Academy.

New Haven 56, Dwenger 54

Lucas Lehrman led the Saints (5-5) with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Hayden Smithey added 11 and 5.

Woodlan coach Dave Randall is hoping his team can find consistency and compete for a second-consecutive ACAC regular-season title.

Tuesday, 1/9

Blackhawk 55, Homestead 52

Class 1A #1 Blackhawk Christian beat Homestead 55-52. Jalan Mull recorded 10 points and 12 assists, Freshman Caleb Furst led the Braves with 15 points while Frankie Davidson had 13. The Spartans were led by Onye Ezeakudo who had six 3-pointers and finished with 28 points, Sam Buck finished with 10.

South 70, Canterbury 48

Carroll 56, DeKalb 28

Huntington N. 59, Concordia 54

Adam Gottschalk led the Cadets with 13 points, Jadon Dance and Bayden Pearson each had 12. Zach Daugherty scored 14, Trey Williams added 13 and Hank Pulver had 10 rebounds for the Vikings.

Churubusco boy’s basketball coach Chris Paul and his Eagles (4-7) have won four of their last 5 games.

Indiana Basketball Association Coaches Top 20 Poll:

North Side is tied with Class 3A #1 Evansville Bosse, at #12. The Legends extended their win streak to 5 games after the 71-55 win over Culver Academies on Saturday. Blackhawk Christian is receiving votes at the 22 position. The Braves traveled to Concordia on Saturday, and won by 30 points, 72-42 over the Cadets.

Associated Press Polls: 

(Class 4A) #10 North Side moves back into the top 10 after big wins over Wayne and Culver Academies.

(Class 1A) #1 Blackhawk Christian moves into the number after an impressive 72-42 win at Concordia. Tindley drops from 1 to #5 after suffering its third straight loss falling on the road to University 48-46 and Brebeuf Jesuit 75-71. The Tigers lost to Cathedral 64-50 on Dec. 29.
