Lambert, Defense, and New QB Lead Legends to First Win of the Season

North Side knocked off Wayne this past Friday. After starting the season at 0-3, the Legends get their first win under first-year head coach Ben Johnson Jr.

Jontae Lambert was North Side’s leading rusher. He ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns. This is Lambert’s first year as the Legends starting running back, as well as the second time he’s racked up 100 plus yards rushing in a game.

With usual starting quarterback Brashawn Bassett battling an ankle injury, Donovan Williams stepped in as the starting role against Wayne. Williams went 12 for 23 for 147 yards passing.

Despite allowing 159 rushing yards to Lamarion Nelson, the Legends’ defense held the Generals to 14 points and also held quarterback Aidan Meek to 5 of 13 passing for 96 yards.
